2017 ShieldTV. Only a couple of days ago the Plex server stopped and there is no option to restart it. In the Plex settings there is the server option header but there is no command to start or stop the server. I’ve tried uninstalling Plex and reinstalling but that doesn’t help. Permissions seem to be correct. I’ve haven’t done a factory restore of the shield yet but that’s my last option. Any ideas before I start the shieldTV from scratch?
Same here on my ShieldlTV Pro after updating to PMS version 1.26.0.5715
Plex app data was moved to usb SSD after initial install in early March due to very large db size. This worked like a charm untill now.
After update at first some but not all smb shares disappeared, after a while all were gone and after that no connection with PMS at all.

Finally got it working after a tip from elsewhere.
- Clear plex cache/.data.
- Uninstall plex from the google store.
- Reinstall plex.
- Check that you have a new plex server and it is running.
- Remove the old server device (that is not working) from plex devices. (using web plex).
- Rebuild libraries.
- Change Plex storage location to user specified if you are using ssd usb stick for additional memory.
- Voila!
… till the next time there is an update, then you will need to do it all again…
