Hello Plex Peoples,
I’m having trouble accessing my new Plex Media Server remotely through app.plex.tv.
This is my first time setting up a NAS, so I apologize in advance if I’m overlooking something simple or not explaining everything correctly. I’ve been troubleshooting this issue for several hours without much success.
My setup:
-
UGREEN DXP2800 NAS running UGOS Pro
-
Plex Media Server 1.43.4 via LinuxServer Docker
-
Docker networking set to Host
-
Cox Panoramic WiFi Gateway
-
TCP port 32400 forwarded to the NAS
-
Server successfully claimed and registered to my Plex account
I’ve confirmed that the server is running and accessible remotely. Both HTTP and HTTPS requests to my public IP on port 32400 return HTTP 200 OK. TLS 1.3 works, and the server presents a valid plex.direct certificate.
However, when selecting the NAS server through app.plex.tv, I receive a secure connection error and cannot access its settings or complete setup.
My existing Plex server on my MacBook Air works normally under the same account. Both servers have separate machine identifiers.
I’ve also ruled out browser caching, VPN interference, iCloud Private Relay, and Cox Advanced Security.
I’m wondering if this could be related to how Plex advertises its secure connection addresses or registers the server with Plex’s services, but I’m honestly not sure.
Again, I’m relatively new to NAS systems and Docker, so I apologize if I’ve missed something obvious. Any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time and assistance!
