one screenshot says it all - I'm so so tired of seeing this, pls fix it.

I know that Plex forces retrieving account info from the cloud, and when the connection to Plex gets complicated this shows up. There may be enough reason for you to implement it but I doubt this is the experience that anyone run their own server would appreciate.

Issues with connecting to plex.tv would not cause that. Looks like you are using Windows. Do you have multiple Window users on that computer? Starting PMS under a different user will result in another server being created, if you boot into 1 user, load PMS, then switch users, PMS won’t be found.

You can check in Settings \ Devices \ Servers to see if you have more than 1 server listed.

Hi there

Thanks for your reply. I’m running multiseat solutions on Windows 10 with Aster, and I’ve made sure that no other users are running PMS, in another word I have only one server, which works sometimes.

Before Plex made the change that we have to login to our own servers in LAN environment this issue didn’t exist, so it’s either the authentication lacks stability or something else got broken in the way, and I’m not the only user who’s starring at their own server in front of them and get told “a server can not be found.”

Seriously, fix it please.

PS: I don’t want to ■■■■■ about it but the PMS is actually working, you have to reload a few times before the server shows up, or sometimes many times, I’d like to see that improved. Thank you.

Well, that’s new. We’ve never tested running PMS is a multi-seat environment, so this is definitely something unique. Can you grab a log the next time you can’t connect as well as when you can. I’d like to see the difference in how PMS is acting.

Right now, I’m gonna have to say PMS is not supported in this setup, as we have no idea if this would work. If the logs tell us something, maybe we can add more stability.

just a quick question though, I’m supposed to grab a log when I can’t connect to it, how? Isn’t it possible to do it only when I’m connected to it?

When you can’t connect, you’ll need to manually grab the logs. They are located in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Plex Media Server\Logs\. Just zip the entire folder and send it my way.

It would be best if you actually restarted PMS, try to connect. If it does, get the logs from Plex Web. If it doesn’t grab them manually. I would love to get loves from both, but that might take several restarts, so only if you have the time, but the logs from when you can’t connect would be the more important one for now.
