Plex server, port forwarding, Asus Router difficulties

I'm trying to enable Plex to work while away from my home network.  I'd like to be able to run Plex from my android phone, iPad, chromecast, etc.  I'm running Plex Media Server on a Windows 7-PC. My network uses a Motorola SBG6580 Modem and an ASUS RT-N65U wireless router.

So far, I've setup a static IP using Portforward.com's free software, PF Setup Static IP.  I've confirmed Port Forwarding is setup on my router's settings (Advanced Settings --> WAN --> Virtual Server/Port Forwarding).  I also forwarded the port 32400 using the static IP I have obtained using the instructions at portforward.com/English/routers/port_forwarding/Asus/RT-N65U/Plex_Media_Server.htm .

I then checked the port using PFPortChecker by Portforward.com.  I am being told that port number 32400 is being blocked by an application.  When I close PMS, the application says that the port is Not Open or not reachable.

I have updated Windows Firewall settings so that the Firewall state is Off for both Home and Public networks.  I have also been able to log into the Motorola modem using the default login and password (admin/Motorola).  Under Firewall, Firewall Protection is set to Off and none of the Web Features have been enabled (Filter Proxy, Port Scan Detection, Block Fragmented IP Packets, etc.).  There is also an Allowed Services section that lists "No Ports Restricted."  As a final effort, I've enabled uPnP and enabled Port Triggering on the router.

Plex works like a dream on my local network, but I'd like to use it while traveling.  I don't really know what I'm doing and could use a little help.  Anything obvious that I missed?  Anything I should try?  I would appreciate any help.  Thanks.

i think you are still double natted probably. you can check this by simply looking at the WAN IP in the Asus home page after you log in, in the network map box ( i assume it is like my N66U )  if that ip starts with 192 or 10 your probably still double natted  as those are usually only for local internal IP addresses ( don't tell us what that ip is if it does not start with those)

if so, i would google how to put your motorola into bridge mode (so it stops trying to be a router also)

or

you have to in the mototrola port forward 32400 to the WAN IP of Asus, then in Asus forward it to static IP of your computer ( the second part sound like you already did)

If you still need help with this, what I had to do was setup DNS and add a DDNS. This is free as ASUS offers free ones. Once you have this setup then you can make sure the port forwarding is configured correctly. Im not sure why it needed my DDNS setup in order to use but once I configured that (for other reasons) then it worked fine. Connected automatically. Hope this helps.

Hi I am having issue with plex with error as not available out side network. I have done some settings as per forum but still not able to fix it. I have Asus RT-N56U and Qnap NAS. I have some photos.

Can someone help?

Picture is blury trying to zoom in. What I would recommend without seeing it is, make sure you Check that Port Forwarding is allowing Both TCP and UDP to whatever Port you are giving Plex, Then Power Cycle your Router. IDK but that Fixes it sometimes.

Thanks a lot it worked.
