So I’ve been having issues with my DVR running on my Nvidia shield. It’s been telling me it won’t record because there’s not enough available space when I have 1.8 TB available. Then suddenly it decided to erase all my recordings but then start recording new episodes. Anybody else have this is8sue?
Change the “transcoder temporary directory” to be the same as your TV Library. On a Shield with only 16GB of internal memory the Live TV and DVR can use 6-10 GB per hour per show.
I am using a 2 TB external hard drive on my Nvidia shield TV it should not be recording to the actual Nvidia device itself
If you migrated internal storage to the 2 TB drive that would work.
The Live TV part writes the segment files from the TV tuner to the transcoder directory, and then if it is DVR’ing it concatenates them into the .grab folder under the TV or Movie library folder.
And just like that after doing 10 scans of the folder all my material came back. not sure what change actually fix the problem but thank you very much!
Since I made your changes I see that grab file is on my external hard drive. Hopefully this will take care of the problem permanently. Thank you for all your help
