I have run Plex Media Server on My windows PC and ipad to cast to my Chromecast audio devices for a few years. A couple of weeks ago it stopped casting to them from the pc and the ipad. I think after a Plex update?
I can still cast from other applications on my desktop and ipad without any problems. The plex server can still see the Chromecast devices but when I select them they immediately deselect.
It is driving me mad!

Same here with Chromecast firmware 1.42.172094. It works fine on my phone and when playing on my shield and even remotely at work. It just doesn’t stream audio to my one Chromecast. Now it will work with older videos perhaps those not using surround sound.
