Cannot Cast to Chromecast Audio - Has Stopped working

Hey

I can’t cast audio anymore from the Android App or Chrome Browser. Everything except for Plex works through the chromecast audio
When Casting from browser, i hear it connect, then a popup says Continue Playback with a Yes or No. No matter what I press it does not connect.

When attempting to cast through the Android App I get “Error An error occurred while attempting to play this video. Please try restarting both the Plex Media Server and the app”. Irrelevant, I’m attempting cast audio.

Well I have been casting audio through plex for 2 years. What is up? I suspect an update has broken the chromecast audio.

Same here. Worked flawlessly for years. Since a couple of weeks or so behaves as described above.

Please, I needs me my bedroom music. :frowning:

Please fix this. This is a huge deal for me. I will need to rearchitect how I send music to the different zones on my AV receiver if this doesn’t get solved and it will not be a cheap fix.

Same here. Has worked perfectly for years, now suddenly has stopped.

IOS app:
I get “something went wrong” when starting to cast to CC audio or that it goes into a reconnect loop for ever.

Web app from chrome:
CC audio just fails in connecting and goes directly back to available.

Definitely my preferred way of enjoying my music library since I dont have to turn on the telly.

Happening to me as well, exactly as described by OP. Someone plz halp!

Chromcast Audio got a new firmware 1.42.168007.
After that plex in broken (I have 3 different Plex servers at home).

Please, check your Chromcast firmware in Google Home application.

Logitech Media Server works fine with new firmware, so Plex can be fixed too !

For reference, I do not have problems casting from my Android device (Fire OS 5.6.4.0) to any of the four Chromecast audio devices I have… two running 1.42.172094, one running 1.42.168007, and one running 1.40.156414. Plex Server is running 1.16.6.1592. I can also cast when using Plex Web 4.6.2 in Google Chrome 77.0.3865.75. I can also cast from my Galaxy S10e running Plex 7.21.0.12323. I know that doesn’t solve any issues, but hopefully helps you eliminate possibilities.

Worked for a little while. Now not working again. Am I alone or are others experiencing the same thing.

Hey Jamie just to let you know. I rebootd all 4 of my chromecast audio devices and recreated groups. Still not working.

Plex does play on my android but as soon as I connect to chromecast audio it stops.

I am using Qmusic now. Seems to work. Not my favorite but at least am able to listen to my music.
