Plex server stops running every time there’s a new update, any Fix?

Everytim ethere is and update on PC Server Plex, server gets disconnected from access

how to fix that and stop server from preventing failing?

Updates come out every few weeks.

Any way to fix that or include AUTO UPDATE Feature? that would fix the issue.

Please advise

Try shutting the server down and restarting it. Same issue a friend had tonight and that helped after he just did an update

thanks but that is not a permanent solution ( I already did that like 20 times )

that happens every time a new update comes out

developer has to fix it or provide Auto Update feature.

K let’s start with the basics. Do you have a static IP and port forwarding set up on your server?

Yes i have static local ip on the server and ports forwarded otherwise i would not be able too connect from outside… so yes

You can still connect to your server and play media, just not as good quality because it will go they a relay service. With a Plex Pass you’re capped at 2MB/sec. provide screenshots of your settings on your router and server settings.

what does that have to do with Plex dropping connection to Plex Account ONLY When update is released and present. It forces me to download the update and install it, once that is done everything works again… till another 2-3 weeks till another update is released.

i will not provide pictures because i have a lot more devices routed

That’s fine. I’m not a pro and was only trying to help with my experience of issues I’ve had in the past.

ok thanks for trying i was trying to see if developers can chip in here whith some suggestions. Or perhaps a simple solution of them all - Create Auto Update Feature !! i have no idea why Plex is the only application i know that does not have autoupdate. Most apps have it and ask when booting.
Also why Updates would severe Connectivity to plex account server which does not make sense.
Perhaps they should include a button to update plex server from Online account so it can be done remotely.

My servers are in remote locations not easily accessible.

I have same problem, each update bring my PMS down, unitl I click on the Plex startup icon…

This has been doind this for months now.

Running under Windows server 2016 / PMS 1.16.1.1273

Same issue here. I have been avoiding updates of late. The last one took quite awhile to get launched again. I have the Synology version.
