No Plex server in settings on shield the buttons to turn on or off are missing. Error message states shield android tv is currently unavailable. Please verify the server is runningand has network connection. Can the plex experts help me please.

plex media server does not appear to be on my device any longer.
Also noticed that local host is appearing but does not work either.
Where are you seeing this error screen?
The version number you listed does not jive with the current version, which is 1.23.1.4571.
Is it possible it’s not installed? If it has been uninstalled you would need to re-install it. If you go to apps, can you find Plex Media Server? Can you go to voice control and speak it, does Google find it in the app store? It may also need to be updated. If you can go to the app store, try finding Plex Media Server and seeing if it needs an update.
server wont start on shield after recent update/ I have the latest version. Dont understand what I am doing incorrectly.
My Plex server has stopped working on Nvidia Shield since I updated yesterday to latest version. I did just get a synology nas and put plex server on it in an effort to backup media. Not sure how that woud make my Shield server stop working. Any assistance would be appreciated I updated the server on the nas. as well. It is working.
Same here. For the last two days the plex server has completely disappeared. I’ve updated, restarted, force stopped, relaunched, etc in various combinations and it’s still not working. I don’t want to have to lose everything by factory resetting or clearing the database. It’s a chore having to redo a server and re-mark things as watched, and rematch everything.

Hello please don’t factory reset or erase anything. Mine is back up and running. It may be an issue on there end. I networked a Nas to my network and used a VPN server. I shut it off. Not sure if that was problem or not. But I’ve had this issue from the update prior to this one when I did not have nas. Hang in there, I think plex will fix it. Best of luck to you. Keep me posted.
I updated the Plex Server version a few weeks ago and mine has done this off and on and recently newly added music and movies will not get added to the database. I have changed library locations to see if that would do anything but the changes could not be saved.
I reset my installation, pointed to the library locations and let it go… a debacle. Three days of scanning and it completed with missing half the music, about 25% of movies and most of the TV shows. Probably about 60% of metadata was never downloaded.
I’m going through it again, but only allowing it to do music first. I have started the library scan about 4 times now and each time it picks up more artists that were missed the first time around. Plex on Shield was great and just seems to suck now. I hope this gets straightened out quickly.

my server is not working again. a few days it works and then it is gone. I dont get why this keeps happening?If you could tell me what Im doing wrong I would happily stop doing it. Are we allowed to have more than one server. I had one on my new Nas and I since deleted it since Im having this issue on the shield they are in the same network. Ok thanks hope they rest are fairing better than I.
It looks to be the same issue affecting Plex Media Server as a whole. They rolled out some patches for them, but not the Shield.
Pissed right now, I’m dead in the water.
Similar issue here, was able to get the menu items to re-appear by force closing the client and server. Settings show the server is running, but cannot connect to any of the media on the shield or via web app.
Issue occurred before and after the 12 July update to the server.
