Also ran into huge problems. Updating the music library at first took around 30 minutes. No biggie. Server seemed to work fine. A few days later, I can’t connect through local network, and I notice the CPU usage on Plex went to 40-50% and stayed there for hours. I rebooted my PC, reinstalled Plex, same thing happened. Wouldn’t even load up locally. Went back to 1.17.0.1841. Fixed my problems. Hoping for another 1.18 update that’s working better because I really like the new metadata update.
