Not a good idea. This will only place the program code onto F:
However, the Plex data folder is still on C: – and that is the one which is growing all the time.
Your new installation is still using the default location on C: for the data.
It is also likely, that the main Plex database file on C: is damaged, due to it running into a space constraint.
The way forward for you:
- shut down Plex server
- move the plex data folder from its default location to a different local drive, formatted with the NTFS file system.
see Moving Metadata on Windows - #3 by OttoKerner for details (only perform the steps 1 – 3 for now) - uninstall plex from F:
- install it to C:
- restore an older backup copy of the primary Plex database, overwriting the current, damaged database file https://support.plex.tv/articles/202485658-restore-a-database-backed-up-via-scheduled-tasks/
- resume the ‘Moving Metadata on Windows - #3 by OttoKerner’ procedure and perform the steps 4 – 9
