I upgrated to version 1.19.3.2793 and since then no videos are playing as it says that there is a Playback Error " Conversion failed. A required codec could not be found or failed to install." The connection won work on Roku, nor Samsung TV, nor directly on the server (Ubuntu) with a Firefox browser.
Also, in the general tab, it alwasy says that there is an update available, but is the same number is already installed. I have installed manually as it says several times, rebooted the server, but keeps the same. The problem begin with this upgrade. Before it was working fine in all devices.
Regarding the codec issue, you could try deleting your codecs. I’ve seen threads where this has resolved various playback issues after upgrades, and I had to do it once to resolve recording failures. Plex will then download codecs again as it needs them.
The codecs are stored under the Plex data directory (see this link if you don’t know where that is), in the “Codecs” directory. In “Codecs” is a directory that for me is named with a uniqueidentifier-OS-processorclass name. When I did it I (backed up and then) deleted all files that were in this uniqueidentifier-OS-processorclass directory, followed by a reboot.
