I apologize upfront if this is a stupid question, but prior to yesterday, didn’t have additional users. Adding a friend for sharing a library now it asks which user on startup even without pin? There is only one user. Running Linux not sure what I did to get back without asking for clicking on the user at startup.

Workaround: Activate ‘automatic logon’ in each of your plex clients.
You previously had set a PIN, but removed it again, right?
It might take another restart of both server and clients to notice that.
Thanks for the quick reply. None of the clients, ipads, android, fire tv etc have the issue. Only the desk server client running linux, rebooted, even did a stop plex and restart plex no help.
Yes put in a pin and then took out. I do not see anywhere in settings on linux to put in automatic logins. All the clients are. Using latest version 1.18.4.2171 on ubuntu.

It’s a client preference.
If you mean by “desk server client” the web app, then you can find the preference under
Settings - Plex Web - General - “Automatically Sign In”
Make sure to instruct your web browser to not throw out all data and cookies from the domain plex.tv when you close it, or this preference won’t survive.
btw, prefer this version app.plex.tv over the one hosted locally on your server
Ok thanks again. Using app.plex.tv, this is an improvement. Cookies are not thrown out on current setting for all sites, so not an issue for Plex domains. Problem and you will say I am nuts but there is not a “Automatically Sign In” setting. Here is the screen shot. Any help appreciated and I am certain I am being super stupid here. Thanks in advance.

Are you using any web browser add-ins which could suppress or filter-out content?
I seem to remember that some add-ins can have this side effect.
Try disabling them all, and then re-enable them one-by-one. Refresh the web app each time (F5) until you have found the culprit.
Ok using Chromium and have turned off all add-ins and extensions. Nothing shows up on that page about automatically signing in. I am very sorry I am being a pain, but I am very grateful for your help. I am willing to try anything, your suggestions are appreciated and will give them a whirl. I also thank you for helping me. Already life is better using app.plex.tv

Are you running other means of filtering, like e.g. PiHole or other “filtering proxy” software?
No on the filter. I just tried firefox, Google Chrome, to see if that was an issue and no they do not show automatically sign in. It doesn’t ask me for my Plex login, just makes me click the user that doesn’t have a pin, rather than just starting up.

You appear to have still an invitation into your Plex Home pending. And you also appear to have activated the ‘Guest’ user.
Which is a ‘managed’ user.
You need to retract the invitation and also to disable the Guest account.
Bingo! Many thanks, after those fixes and a restart of server am good. Sorry for all the churn but thanks for the help. That combined with using the desktop app is great.
