Plex stopped working on LG TVs

Adding my name to the list of ‘plex is broken on LG TV’. We’ve been using the DLNA feature of Plex on our TV since last night as workaround for the time being.

The same here - LG webOS TV OLED55E6V - can connect to my main plex as well as my nas plex, but no streaming - just 3 dots visible, while trying to play. Really, really bad, as I need plex for all my family… Please find the fix asap.

HI same today on my LG cant stream any video to my LG smart TV ,downgrade to previous versions doesnt help.
Reinstalling plex on LG doesnt help.
Streaming from macbook pro 15 2017 with all latest updates.
Installed Emby just to try and is working fine so its Plex problem .
I wish to buy full version but now im not sure.
Must admit that love plex server its great and hope it is just bug to be fixed soon.
Will be nice have anybody from plex comment the issue. :slight_smile:

Another LG tv plex app not working

Shows content but when try to,play file, three dots and thats it…files doesnt play…yesterday, everything was fine

When can we get a fix?

Mine stopped working also.
Menu works fine but no video files work.
Xplay works.
I have WebOS 3.3.3-3704 on my LG OLED65E6V

Same with me aswell just get the 3 dots hope its fixed soon.

something that may be of use to whoever is looking into this - i updated my tv firmware from 04.70.65 to 04.70.85 late last night, my plex usage yesterday was using the 65 firmware, i didn’t use plex once i’d updated the tv to 85.

so i think it’s to do with the newer lg firmware.

Probably not, i have no,updates on my tv and still does not work

Works on xplay, works on ipad, on phone, on xbox one…just tv is affected

when i tried using plex on lg today, it just showed the 3 dots, and this is using the same plex server version as yesterday (on my qnap).

so in my case at least, it doesn’t appear to be server version related

Tried to downgrade server to Version 1.12.1.4885, did not help. Then tried 1 version prior, also did not help.

So either this is an LG problem after all, or Plex latest version screws up some AppData?!

My LG OLED65C6P TV is running Plex for LG (webOS 05.30.02) 3.13.14.

It looks like a new version (3.13.15) was released on 4/10/2018 (see https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/comment/1650656#Comment_1650656)
It could be that build fixes the current playback issues may are having with Plex for LG.

My TV hasn’t updated to the new version yet and I haven’t figured out how to force it to update.

I’ve got an older LG running version 3.13.13 , Netcast ) that still seems to be working OK, My daughters and granddaughters are the newer LG running 3.13.14 WebOS and both have them have stopped working after I updated the server tonight.
Version 1.12.2.4929

Good call on XPlay though :slight_smile: still working, so installed that so my Granddaughter as her nightly film fix before sleep time

Experiencing this too with an LG OLED. Can confirm that all other devices are fine.

I also recorded some logs to try and troubleshoot. I tried with DirectPlay and DirectStream settings enabled and disabled. Every time it hung at the same place:

So yea, it acts like it’s idle then fails to fetch a client profile for my TV.
