Only just started happening since ios14 update. I start playing something using the plex app on my iPhone, casting to my TV via Google Chromecast. If I press the sleep (side) button on the iPhone to turn off the screen, the casting stops after 10 seconds - to be able to watch anything I need to leave my phone screen turned on - which obviously drains the battery. I have no idea what is causing this. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

I have the exact same issue with ios14 and my chromecast. I have the issue for 2 weeks now and I don’t see any way to fix it, could be linked to ios14 though.
The connexion is lost, it seems that the chromecast disappear after the disconnection and come back few seconds later.
I’ve been having the exact same issue. Is very hit and miss. Will work on one device for a bit, then when I go to another episode it’ll start up and I can’t cast anything until the next day.

I have the same problem. Definitely a bug.
The workaround is to close the Plex app as soon as you have cast - this has worked for me. Hope it gets fixed soon though.
