Plex stops running on QNap

You are showing that you stopped a not running PMS

Use the APPCenter to start PMS, or type start instead of stop in the end of the command

ok, plex is now running.

My media files are still in the same location on the server… I linked the server to my account and redirected to to my existing media library.
I backed up my .db files before I removed plex and reinstalled it from the NAS.
Can I now copy my old .db file back to the plex folder in order to recreate my library?

Yes, but remember to stop Plex first

And depending on you settings, metadata downloaded might have been deleted, but don’t suspect so, but if poster etc are missing, you should do a “Refresh all Metadata”

what directory do i copy the old com.plexapp.plugins.library.db file back to?

“$(getcfg -f /etc/config/qpkg.conf PlexMediaServer Install_path)/Library/Plex Media Server/Plug-in Support/Databases”

compied the file back over. how do i tell plex to use the older file?

Huh, it should overwrite the existing file, so simply start PMS

And filename is

com.plexapp.plugins.library.db

Ok thank you for all the help. I’ll see if it all updates correctly after I eat dinner.

Please report back, so we all learn

Ok- my library imported correctly.
New problem- remote access won’t work. No change in router or isp setting since it marked correctly. What do I do now?

I disabled the Qnap media streaming addin - is that the problem?

Please create a new thread for this, since in no way related

Otherwise, others could have problems finding the right solution when searching up here

Ok. Should this issue be fixed for good now- except for the remote access issues?

after deleting and recreating the port forwarding rules in my router configuration, remote access is working again.
only minor issue is Plex hasn’t updated all of the metadata yet. I’m having to do it manually since plex tends to merge the different movie versions into one listing within plex. Is there any way to prevent that from happening?
