Plex Stream-To devices - Emby=yes - Plex=no. Why?

Hi all,

I’m very sorry to ask if already answered -. but I did not find any informations:

Why does Plex do not find/support DLNA receivers???
I have LifeTime PlexPass but when I just try Emby (without premuim) I can use it “out-of-the-box”:

“Activate DLNA-Play-To”

And it works!!! With this I can send music to my AVR builtIn Chomecast.

Why not with Plex??? Why???
May be I missed something - please help.

DLNA is a checkbox option in Settings for PMS - in Windows at least

/settings/dlna

I personally don’t use it as I have a client on every device I use.

Edit - just tried it and it casts to all my available devices

Thanks for your response.

But all I can see are “Plex for Android” devices.
In Emby I also can see my Dreambox DLNA receiver.
I can also send Musik to my Dreambox using MediaMonkey.
But Plex does not see it!

Before I forget:
When Onkyo AVR is on (also TV) Emby shows these options. Plex still shows only Android devices.

This really makes me upset! Why?

Did you enable DLNA and restart the server ?

It shows my dreambox and plays.

Also shows my Samsung TV, my Denon, My Roku and my Lenovo Smart devices - all work.

Yes - I enabled DLNA server (see my screenshot) and just also restarted my server. Still only sees my 2 FireTV sticks (which I dont’ want to use).

My 2 screenshots shows available devices from Emby and Plex side of view when Onkyo/TV and Dreambox are powered on.

My Plex server is running on a Debian 10 server with version 1.25.5.5492-12f6b8c83

Can you please add a screenshot what your server sees as “DLNA-To devices”?
What can be wrong here?

Also MediaMonkey can “see” the DLNA receivers in my network:

But I really would like to use only ONE player (Plex).
Still confused what’s different with Plex.

It’s a shame that there is no official Plex post!
Why do I cannot stream media with Plex to DLNA devices???
Like already documented with screenshots and text: It’s possible with Emby and other Software. But not with Plex.
I’m really disappointed and aksing myself why I paid for Lifetime pass! sigh
