It’s possible to just upload same srt files in fx the same item you are playing if you are on same network.
plz plex fix original possibility to use srt files directly in same folder without transcoding error.
Try clicking None ▼ and see if you can see SRT External. I guess None is selected by default from your Account Settings.
I ran into the same problem when upgrading my library to the new agent. My solution instead of endless troubleshooting was to add a create a new library pointed at the same directory. The subtitles showed up in the new library, so I deleted my old Movies library and renamed the new one Movies. I don’t know if this is a viable solution for you with 6,000 movies. I have nowhere near that many.
Having the same issues with subtitles again, PMS on TV does not pick up any, opensubtitles data base does not correclty pick up languages also. Returning back to old Legacy version works perfectly.
Sounds like you’re referring to two different issues here both of which should be resolved.
PMS version 1.20.5 solves the issue with sidecar subtitles not being picked up when opening movies from certain apps. There was also a Opensubtitles bug that was resolved a few days ago that was causing bad results when searching for subtitles on-demand, that one doesn’t require any server update.
