Server Version#: 1.41.7
Player Version#: 4.145.1
As title says, I am really confused as to what I have possibly done.
I’m new to hosting on QNAP and it was working brilliantly.
Now, when I try opening Plex from app centre, to make adjustments - nothing; it says ‘This page isn’t working. xxx didn’t send any data.’
I wouldn’t know what logs you would possibly need as I have never before asked for help.
Has anyone got any ideas?
Download it directly from their website and then manually install from the QNAP store app - I’ve been doing it that way for years with no issues.
…to be honest, I thought the Official QNAP store version stopped working (being updated?) years ago.
Sorry, should have mentioned I have done that and v.1.41.6.9685-d301f511a worked great. Then it stopped, so I downloaded the beta, v.1.41.7.9749-ce0b45d6e, with no change. I know it’s probably something I have done as I am not very well up on NAS systems. What I need is an idiot’s guide…
Not trying to be condescending but did you download the right version (I think there several types for QNAPs).
1.41.6 is working for me (TS-664).
OK, this but just sunk in. I imagine something else is going on if v1.46.6 suddenly stopped working for you.
Did you restart the QNAP?
Sorry, trying to work in my shed today (not at all warm, you understand…), yes I restarted plex several times. I even restarted the NAS, And you weren’t condescending. please, tell me like I’m 5, because the simplest things trip me up. I will not take offence. I have a feeling I’ve unwittingly altered a setting somewhere and not realised it. because, basically, I don’t know what I’m doing…
Also, for some reason, Plex does not appear on my desktop on the NAS. I have to go into App Centre to launch it.
I have just downgraded back to 1.41.6 again, to see if any change - nope.
Please see: How can I create an app shortcut on the Desktop of my NAS? | QNAP
When launched from QTS, it will use the IP address, so maybe it’s your browser that refuse to connect, since the certificate is not valid for an IP address, but only for a DNS entry
I suggest you simply use this instead: https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/
is it an “http:” v “https” thing? try both.
Can you open via the QNAP app centre?
Have you tried:
- <your_qnap_ip_address>:32400
This worked! thank you so much to you both.
http allows me in
https allows me in
<my_qnap_ip_address>:32400 does not. but it used to do.
It matters not as I can now get in and edit/alter my libraries
as to the shortcut, thanks for explaining how to do that, but its redundant as I can no longer open <my_qnap_ip_address>:32400, for some odd reason.
Thanks again for your help.
Could be a browser thing, so maybe try another browser
