I can only connect to the server on localhost and all the settings have been reset to default
the library’s are still there with the file paths but plex says unexpected error loading them
I think this is what happened
I followed these steps and my librarys are back but my settings are still default are there any other files i should/can replace

Some of your settings are stored in Plex.tv
However the bulk of them are stored in your local Preferences.xml file.
If you wish you keep a backup of it so you can open and read what you changed from default, it would not be a bad idea.
To regain control , without losing settings, You only need stop PMS and remove the PlexOnlineUsername and PlexOnlineToken from it. Save the file (verify still owned by plex:plex) and reclaim it.
