Sync is always stuck at 50%. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled, started with a new library, set and reset any option I can think of and yet sync does not go beyond 50% (no problems syncing from my Linux device to Android or iOS devices).
Same issue here. My Plex Server is on Windows 10 and I’m trying to sync to a iOS device on 11.2.6
i’m having the same issue… my PMS on my Asustor shows that the converting happens but then stops after that (50%) and goes to waiting and never ends up sycn’ing… I tried multiple different videos on a Windows 10 plex app, on my personal 2 iOS devices, and i have 3 friends that have tried on their devices (1 iOS, 2 android)… you all see anything change since your post?
I wish we could get a response to this issue… i’d be happy to provide any logs, if there were a Plex support response to our issue!!!..
It seems we bought a Plex pass just to answer each other’s questions.
They don’t like to help current customers with bugs or fix features that they advertise as working but simply don’t. That I have come to realize…

Ngs, i know this is frustrating but I dont think that is the issue, honestly you look at all the posts that have been made and the ones the plex staff has looking at and are working on, I think really they are doing an awesome job working as fast as they can and looking at the criticality of each issue. PMS not syncing is an issue but is no where as terrible as a plex pass user not able to run their server… i believe whole hartedly that they will get to this issue as soon as they can…
Ive got the same problem as of April 2018
Same issue… still. V frustrating.
Bought Lifetime pass a few years back and ran it on a synology ds214 play at first, sync stopped at 50pc… lived with it not working and used dsvideo as a work around.
Time moved on, moved Plex to my pc and left it on at home when travelling so that I could use live tv and channels. Sync still only getting to 50pc.
Now about to go on holiday and want to sync some films. It’s still not working. Joke.
Core functionality that is one of the main selling points. It’s like buying a sports car with a 4.0 v8 and the dealer ignoring you when you complain about it only doing 20mph !
I’m on a an iPad Air2 running 11.3.1 and my server is on a MacMini 2014 running 10.13.4. The MacMini is connected by Ethernet for the network connection and a Drobo drive with all my media is connected via USB to the mini. The iPad is connected to the server over WiFi and I’m having the same 50% and stuck at down loading issue. If I throw the app off of the iPad and redownload it will sync fine until the iPad gets interrupted and then I’m back to being stuck. It really sucks that I have to clear off all my movies just to sync something new. I have PlexPass specifically so I can sync so I’m questioning whether Plex is even viable any more. There’s no way to even contact support so I’m pretty much out of luck unless I can find the random forum or reddit solutiion. Is there any hope that this will ever get resolved or do I need to look for a new solution? Does anyone know if this is a relatively new problem?
Going to check my account, I have a yearly pass, does it give an end date?
Same issue on both iPhone SE running iOS 11.4.1 and Fire HD 10 (7th gen) running Fire OS 5.6.2.0.
It used to be just a minor nuisance, but then I started a new job traveling a lot, and the inability to sync has me using Netflix and Amazon 95% of the time because their sync features work 100% of the time.
How about at least an acknowledgment that there’s an issue, mods?
I’m having the same issue right now. Latest versions of iOS and PMS on Windows as of 11/22/18
I have the same issue on iPad running latest Plex server and iOS app. iPad mini 2
Plex will sync the media up to 50% then wait indefinitely. I’ve let it run days at a time with no progression. I’ve searched ad found multiple users post the issue with little to no resolution. They say reinstall the iOS app and that does not work for me. Sync is completely broken on my end
Same issue here… I hope someone at Plex could take this seriously!
I spent over an hour twiddling with things, but I found one temporary fix that will get you through portions of your sync, depending on how large it is. The biggest thing I’ve noticed helping is force stopping the app on whatever device you are trying to sync to. Your queued sync should still be available on the web browser under your “sync” section after force stopping it. Reopen the app and within about 30 seconds it’ll start resuming your downloads. It may not immediately show your sync’d items under “downloads and sync” on your device, but you’ll see the amount of space in gb dwindle as it’s being loaded. How many it sync before stopping seems to be totally random. But if you’re patient or REALLY want something on there in a semi quick fashion, just force stop the app and just continuously do this until everything is sync’d.
I have the same problem running the latest server update. I really hope the Plex team can look at this.
