Plex tags two Frasier episodes as episodes of "La Cloche Tibetaine"

So here’s a mystery. I recently purchased Frasier on Blu-Ray and finally got around to ripping the discs and putting it on Plex. After scanning the library, two of the season four episodes (19 and 24) are instead tagged as belonging to a French TV show, La Cloche Tibetaine (The Yellow Caravan).

I’m not sure how that could have happened as all of the season 4 episodes are in the following directory tree:

/Television Shows/Frasier/Season 04/
(with the other seasons in their respective season directories)

Furthermore, the episode files use standard tv series naming conventions:

Frasier - S04E19 - Three Dates and a Breakup
Frasier - S04E24 - Odd Man Out

Only these two episodes somehow ended up tagged as belonging to the French series (which I had previously never heard of).

When I’ve had feature films mistagged I was able to use the “Fix Match…” command, but that command is not in the menu when I click on a series episode.

Any idea how I might fix this?

Thanks!

  1. make double sure that your Plex library has been pointed directly at the folder /Television Shows/. Not even one folder level above, nor below it.
  2. don’t scan your libraries while a video file is still being downloaded/copied. That’s why it is recommended to use a “staging” folder outside of Plex’s scope to copy, rename and prepare your files before finally moving them into their target folder.
  3. perform a full Plex Dance with the mismatched files.

Thanks Otto! I had done the Plex Dance, but didn’t know about the Clean Bundles step. (I regularly do the Plex Dance when I upgrade series from DVD to Blu-Ray and movies to 4K and always use a staging area on the NAS when bringing new content online.)

Now that I did the Clean Bundles as well all is right again.
