Voice command does not allow a user to “Select” ANYTHING, EVER! (This may be an OS level bug, as “Xbox” nor “Cortana” allow you to verbally “Select” anything
When the plex app starts it it boots in some weird 3/4 ratio, and then aut corrects right before the annoying “Pick a user” screen
Does not run at all in background…
I am using both the latest XB1 system update as well as the new XB1 app. I have uninstalled and re-installed 3 times now, and hard re-booted 3 as well. Same results each time. Please Please Please fix this, it is making the experience unbearable, thanks!
ad 1) I sold my Kinect so I cannot verify this this, but they might have removed this completely. Just try out another UWP app on your Xbox if you can select any tiles via voice.
ad 2) I can confirm this. There is a huge grey bar on the bottom and right side of the screen while starting the app. When the homescreen is loaded everything is OK. This is actually not really a problem but just not “nice to look at”
ad 3) If you mean background music: Correct. But given this is an UWP app now (I suppose) they have an API for background music and I am sure this will be implemented soon.
And on a sidenote => these are hardly critical bugs …
October Xbox update removed “Xbox select” as a valid command. The excuse being “you’ve opted out of modern voice commands by opting out of Cortana.” And Cortana doesn’t recognize Plex as being voice enabled.
I have to manually select AC3 5.1 every time I play a video. The old app would keep 5.1 selected and remember that setting. Also, all files are direct streamed, when if I load the exact same file in the old app, it shows as direct play.

Voice Commands have been removed from this app, cortana implementation IS being looked at!

The App runs at 720p for performance reasons, and increasing the res is being investigated, Video playback is not limited to this res it is just the UI and nothing else.

Hopefully this is being investigated but it is the only thing I have not seen any post about from the team.

I opted out of Cortana from the start (IMHO, it is crap) and have not had any issues telling my Xbone “Xbox pause”, “Xbox play”, “Xbox stop.”
Yes, you can no longer select a video to play using only voice commands, but that is a minor annoyance, NOT a “critical bug” or an “unbearable experience.”
This is due to Microsoft. The ability to select by voice has been removed for UWP apps. You can still use Cortana (or Xbox if not using Cortana) to pause, resume, etc.
I have experienced this is well and the Plex developers are aware.
I have asked the developers regarding this, it’s not something I’ve tried since I don’t have a music library in Plex. I’ll reply back when I have more information. This wasn’t something the previous app had, so it’s not really a bug. It was certainly something everyone was hoping for, but this is also an initial release with other things that need to be added as well.

That’s where I am but it refuses to go any further than that. It makes the noise to signal the selection but then the selection screen just stays there.
I have a problem too, I am from Mexico, usually when my childs see a movie, they chose spanish, with new interfase I can’t select spanish, only sounds in English, I tried in other devices and movie its OK :’( :’( :’(
Same thing as Christophorus here. I run local only.
When going into “Media Servers” from the drop down menu in the upper right (under the username). All the servers I have come up (all configured for local only) show up. All of them try to connect and all of them report unconnected. I can click on the individual server to get them to attempt to reconnect. However, doing so yeilds no additional results. All the servers are available and tested via their standard web interface.
I had seen that I was able to connect on the previous app if I enabled unsecure connections. But I am not seeing that option in this version .
Server version 1.9.2.4285
Plex app version 2.0.1.6 Xbox Platform version: 10.0.16299.3031

The EXACT same thing is happening to me. I can see my remote servers and I can see that they are available but when I try to select them, nothing happens. It makes the “accept” sound when I click on it (XboxOne) but nothing happens. It just stays in the Media Server menu and doesn’t switch servers.
I dont quite know enough about DNS rebinding to jump all the hurdles properly with my configuration(DDWRT with OpenDNS). Due to that I lived with the insecure connections. I have never intended to stream to the internet. I only needed the config for in house streaming. My windows app is still connecting good. As are my android apps. I am currently working around with android app transmission to my local chromecasts.

Why can’t I select an individual show tile (ex: S03E11) and navigate to the season or show directly any longer from the individual episode?
Hit the 3 dots next to the play and shuffle button to go to the show itself.
