Ok, another day, another mis-direct from the billing team. Followed the instructions, de linked, disabled then re-enabled the source, and… nothing
On speaking to Tidal, who of course, since this is set up through plex, cant/wont do anything, it seems clear the issue lies in the plex system somewhere, as,
" The account under jjmaingrain@gmail.com does not have an active subscription. We can see that the account was registered through Plex and so only Plex is able to assist with activating the account."
So, I have been “registered” with Tidal? even though it is an existing tidal account with no subscription, but, I have not been “activated”, which would explain why I have access to nothing! Funnily enough, I can go on Tidal, and view what I have saved previously before I stopped using it
And, the best part, is it appears Plex “support” basically just expects other users to solve the problems for them. Quite ridiculous. They only have interest in taking your money, without providing a service, once they have it, who cares if anything works
So, left it over the weekend, as per “support” advice, still nothing. Oh apart from tidal saying that since plex set it up, they should be able to sort it (quite fair)
So, I am in a position where this company is clearly taking my money, and not providing a service. Fairly sure that isnt legal, so, whats the recourse here? Since they clearly have no fkn intention of providing a simple service
And, finally, some confirmation that, despite false claims, Plex have NOT done what they said they have. Basically, I was correct, taken payment, essentially added a “badge” to my Plex account, and NOT activated a Tidal account. So, anyone from Plex want to fix this, or, I will take a lack of response as you accepting me publicising this as a scam to obtain money falsely

Just call your credit card company and tell them you’d like to file a dispute since the company is selling broken software that’s unfit for purpose.
Todays laughable status. As per Tidal, Plex simply have “forgotten” (lets be nice eh) to actually activate the service, or, tell tidal its active. Yet, are too lazy/ignorant/deceitful to actually do what they should
Then again, in the grand scheme of things, I think including Keith Valory in the “support” (hahaha) email chain will be interesting. Amazing what you can find out. Harold and Elan next I think if this goes nowhere
I’m curious if you have ever used the Gmail feature where you can add dots to your email. If so, this can create fragmented accounts, since Plex sees an email with dots in it as a COMPLETELY SEPARATE account than one without dots.
No, just simple old email and password. Not a big fan of “logging in as” anywhere
Had the same plex account for years, before all the integrated live tv and stuff. I tried to add total when it first came up and it didn’t work then either, I wasn’t charged that time though
No, not the logging into Plex as your google account. I meant, have you ever used the feature where you can have the email account “johnsmith@gmail.com”. Any emails sent to “john.smith@gmail.com” or “j.o.h.n.s.m.i.t.h@gmail.com” are still sent to your account. This causes problems where you may create a Plex account under “johnsmith@gmail.com”, and created ANOTHER account at “john.smith@gmail.com”. Plex doesn’t see those two as the same account.
Since I only saw one email address in your pictures and it was a Gmail account, I was concerned that maybe you linked your tidal account to a Plex account that uses a “.” in it somewhere, while logging into your normal account. It might explain why tidal says you have it linked, but Plex doesn’t.
Just a thought, and wanted to ward off a potential head-slapper error.
Ah no, plain and simple only one. Everything works fine apart from this tidal link, and according to tidal, it’s because plex haven’t activated the account subscription with them, but they just aren’t doing it, or bothering to reply. And, it makes perfect sense, since, plex account says I have tidal, and it’s linked. Plex app directs me to buy one, which then thanks me for being a customer haha. And, of course, no subscription showing on tidal, which then makes sense as to why the plex app can’t see it.
Bit of a farce really.
My plex knowledge is ok, I mean, I figured out how to use xteve to watch my strm files, since plex doesn’t do that anymore, so, shouldn’t be something daft, I hope. Well, apart from in their backend
Well, todays latest, is, trying to claim i sent screenshots with different “profile pictures”, despite all screens of every possible page showing…
1 - 1 profile pic
2 - 1 email address
3 - 1 username
All the while, completely ignoring the statement from tidal stating quite clearly, that plex havent activated my subscription with them.
I do wonder what the problem could be and why I cant access music on plex via tidal?
