Before plex I was using, “Synology media server” to send movies from my Synology to my dvd player to watch on my old flat screen, “non smart tv.” Is it possible to do the same through Plex. I downloaded the plex media server but am not sure how to set it up. TIA
There are no DVD players compatible with Plex.
You will be needing a device which you can connect to the second HDMI input of your TV.

Synology server does also provide its library using DLNA. I have no idea of the features/organization of it, but it’s likely how “Synology Media Server” was able to serve videos to your DVD player.
