Hello, since the latest update to Plex my Media server is out of control. It will randomly start using 100% of my CPU even when nothing is playing, this happens quite often the last 2 days.
I’m gonna need a specific time when you see the 100% load. From your log I see someone playing from your server at the time you got the log. It’s an hevc file being transcoded to h264 so that will take quite a bit if cpu power.
And yeah it will, the key difference being that usually its a few seconds of 100% cpu usage and then drops to about 15-20% constant. But in this scenerio it’s on a loop staying on 100% usage for a long time until I interfere and close my media server.
It goes on a constant error spree doing the same thing over and over again causing the 100% cpu usage.
But all the ones above 250k packed have these errors in them creating massive log files of errors, it starts with a transcode, but after that it get’s in an error loop and even continues even when nothing is playing anymore. (which I checked)
Your transcoder is throwing a bunch of errors. I’m not sure what it means, but I’m checking.
Edit - What I see in the log is harmless, just noise, but it does make it hard to read. The logging has been fixed in the new release 1.23.4, currently in beta. Should go public on Monday. Can you wait and install 1.23.4 then, and get me new logs the next time it happens. The only I can see now is that there were 2 streams going.
That is pretty weird, since at that time there was no longer anything streaming. That’s what i meant with the continues loop of error, it continues even after streams have closed.
But yea i’ll download the newest version definitely
