Just wanted to know why when I want to play a 4k video on plex, I can not direct play it and it needs transcoding which leaves my 8/16 cpu core in a 80% of usage.

I was trying with PC which would be the best client I think. But seems that is just need also transcoding

When you say on PC do you mean via web browser?
Yes, I mean via web browser
Web player will never work. Use the Plex Media Player.

What do you mean? I am using the ip:32400 player in my google chrome browser, what do you mean by Plex Media player? Is there any .exe app for windows?

I have seen there is an app for windows that seems to connect your windows device to the server, but I still have a problem, I am using the last version of server and app and seems like the app is not recognizing my server although my account is connected to it:
Any idea on why is that happening, so that I can test if the transcoding is happening with the 4k videos.

I also dissabled my antivirus and firewall in case they were blocking any port that the app needed, but nothing worked.
