anyone can help me to setup my enigma 2 receiver DVB-S2 to work with plex TV
Please
Thank you very much for quick response, would you mind to till me how i can set the xteve
i have Qnap TS-251+ and i install the xteve in docker , from where i can get the m3u8 for all my channels
i appreciate to share the setup, thank you again
There is a dedicated thread for xteve here with explanation how it works.
The m3u8 lists you can get from openwebif of your enjgma2 box. Just click on the TV icon near the respective bouquet you want to have as an m3u8 (you have to get a list for every bouquet individually).
Do you still use xteve with the new Plex Live TV? How do you get proper epg with xteve? From the box are missing season and episode numbers when i tried to export epg data.
Yes and no
I still use xteve and you don’t need HRTunerProxy for it.
I currently use the EPG supplied by Plex. Xteve merely emulates the HD Homerun device and after selecting the channels, you can match them to what Plex has to offer.
If you don’t want to use that, you can get an xmltv file from schedules direct (indirectly, you have to use another tool for that) or by grabbing the EPG from online sources with webgrabplus. I am doing both and use schedules direct for NextPVR, which is now my main PVR apart from the enigma box itself.
PlexDVR I currently use to record the daily news and it works well for that. No issues with xteve or the connection to the enigma box.
But why you use xteve when u use EPG from Plex? I thought xteve would bring a higher value for EPG matching and more?
I mean it should still work with HRTunerProxy and Plex EPG or am i wrong?
Just wondering if i really would need xteve in my environment. Does it need a powerfull machine? I read some posts about running it in Docker. I have already about 20 Docker container, i could give that Host more power if needed. Is xteve just acting as a proxy and does not process streams?
It sounds really like a lot of work with the xmltv file, webgraplus…i checked them years ago already. You mean to grab from schedules direct i would need webgrabplus to do that and then use xteve to host that xmltv file for Plex. And this can be automated i guess but as i thought its a lot of work. Now in the sommertime i have less time to do such things…maybe i can play with that next winter. ^^
