Not possible. This method of access works only with private server addresses.
i.e. remote access is not available this way.
ah OK, I missed that, thank you.
Time for a Fire stick
Do yourself a favor and make that a nVidia Shield Pro.
hah, I have many Firesticks, cheaper and quicker alternative, but thanks again.
For those in need, due to a feature request, proxy4plex is now also available via docker:
Hi, how do I install the proxy in windows 7 64 bit?
explain it, step by step, please
Just follow the instructions on GitHub - kadrim/proxy4plex: Proxy Server for older Samsung Smart-TVs which only support TLS up to 1.1 to the point. The proxy will run on win7-x64 just fine. You will probably want to download this file proxy4plex-0.3.1-0-g20c63b3-windows-amd64.exe
Hello,
Sorry for the late answer, I confirm this works now on J Series and H-Series
Many thanks! Can you perhaps now advise how to load it into internal flash of Samsung and not having it on external USB all the time ?
I figure out how to do it via Sammy Widgets.
1 Login to smart hub with user develop and no password
2. start smart hub
3. hold enter on any app, choose “ip server settings” and enter IP of PC running your Sammy Widgets app server
4. zip contents of plex tv app, put it in widgets folder, select it from the menu in Sammy Widgets
5. hold enter on any app, choose “sync apps”
6. Plex should appear in SmartHub menu afterwards. Plex contents must be inside the zip, and the zip should not contain a folder “Plex” in order for this to work
This works on my H-series, but on my J-series I get a Samsung warning before launch stating something like “you agree you will not develop or launch any unauthorized apps on your TV” and when I click yes, the plex tries to load but won’t launch and TV starts. So I guess for J-Series Samsung made some security that user cannot launch unsigned apps or something like that. Or I need to reset my TV to default factory settings
J-Series seem to be different and require other tooling.
Glad it works for you on H-Series!
With my Proxy the SamyWidgets way is not needed, but both approaches work the same way, so you don’t need the USB-Drive anymore ![]()
It works also on J-series, but I put Plex_2.014_11112020.zip extracted in a USB drive, and then start the proxy4plex to bypass and get the code from the plex.tv/link. But this is really weird that launches only from usb and when I transfer to internal flash via SamyWidgets’ web server it does not launch. I found on a russian blog a way to compile to [.wgt] and sign with certificate using Tizen Studio but this seems for a newer J models. Maybe someone can compile Plex_2.014_11112020.zip to signed Plex_2.014_11112020.wgt ?
