As I understand it, the Plex TV Series agent uses the plex mediaverse database for matching. Is there an appropriate place to suggest fixes to the data?
We use aggregated data from tvdb, tmdb and imdb. Tell us what the problem data is and somebody can take a look.
Battlestar galactica is divided into the miniseries (Battlestar Galactica) and the show (Battlestar Galactica (2003)) which is irksome from a library management standpoint, since they are one continuous narrative. And also it calls the show “Battlestar Galactica (2003)” when the show started in 2005. The miniseries came out in 2003.
This show is always complicated and controversial depending on who you talk to and how they feel about the episode ordering …
Anyhow, take a look at this post Anybody had luck ordering Battlestar (1978)? - #3 by dokuro and see if it helps you.
I had the same problem with Doctor Who (2005). You can get the mini series in with season 1, but it will take some annoying busy work on your part. Luckily season 1 is only 13 episodes…
First, import the mini series as normal into the Specials.
Then, rename the episodes in season one as S01E03 - S01E15.
COPY in the two mini series episodes over to Season 01, and rename them to S01E01 and S01E02.
Scan the TV library. You’ll end up with episodes 1-15, with 14 and 15 being unmatched, of course.
Now for the annoying busy work… Open another instance of Plex to make this part easier.
Copy all the data from Episode 13 into Episode 15. Then copy 12 into 14, 11 into 13, etc.
When you finally get the data in Episode 1 copied into 3, then go to specials, and copy the data in part 1 of the mini series into Episode 1, and part 2 into Episode 2.
Like I said, its annoying busy work, but it’s worth it to be able to watch episodes the series as intended without having to flip back and forth between the season and the specials.
Its worth mentioning that this isn’t necessarily a Plex issue, but the way the mini series is categorized by the tvdb, themoviedb, etc.
