I’m having some difficulty with matching one tv series within my library. All others have worked flawlessly. I believe it’s more likely an issue with how the TV Series Agent (new) is having difficulty with this show, rather than an issue with tvdb and tmdb. I have tried to manually match by the id from both, but it always reverts to the wrong show.
The series is called Waterloo Road and it keeps falsely matching as Waterloo Road (2023). It does however use the front cover from the correct show (although this might be due to me having this image in the folder for the series). The correct show does not show in the search lists under any circumstances, so it seems they might have somehow gotten joined together?

The main problem however is that the show “Waterloo Road (2023)” on TheMovieDB.org has been linked back to the show “Waterloo Road (2006)” on IMDb – which has the 2023 episodes listed as an 11th season.
I have removed the link for now, but it might get restored by someone else if the new season remains listed under the umbrella of the old show on IMDb.
Your best bet is to write in to the IMDb and tell them that this is a wholly new show, which hasn’t anything to do with the old one from 2006. Or has it? I’m not familiar with it.
It’s consider a continuation (number as series 11 on the BBC’s website - the creator) but due to the ten years passing since previously aired, imdb and tvdb seem to be treating it as a unique new show. I’d a feeling the issue was on their side, I was just surprised when I manually entered the series ID, the other one continued popping up.
I will try contacting tmdb to see if the confusion can be resolved. Considering the above, what would you suggest I say? I tried refreshing the link with series year, and the tmdb id after your change, and the same issue occurs. 2006 is stated (correctly) as the year in the suggestions, but with the wrong (2023) show name) and wrong episodes, upon attempting to link.
Sending them a link to the BBC website is a good strategy. That way they know how the show’s creator is treating it.
If you can supply such good evidence, they can usually be swayed.
