Recently TV show downloads from Sonarr are not including any metadata, only the episode number. I’m not sure my PMS on my QNAP (qpkg version, not docker) is using the new Plex TV Series agent. How can I tell, and if it is not, how can I tell it to do so?
Are you downloading directly into a Plex library? That can cause problems, as Plex may be trying (and failing) to scan partially available media.
How are the files named/structured? Can you show a directory listing, screenshot, etc for one of the problematic shows? Include the folder added to the Plex library and the file extension.
Sonarr downloads the nzb file to /downloads/nzb. SABnzbd then downloads the media file to /downloads/completed. Once the download completes Sonarr moves the media file into a /media/tv folder for that specific tv show. So I think the answer is no, I am not downloading directly into a Plex library. Plex’s TV Shows library is /media/tv.
Sonarr is configured to rename files as such:
{Series.Title}.S{season:00}E{episode:00}.{Episode.Title}.{Quality.Title}
Hopefully this screenshot comes through. I’m also attaching PMS logs.
I will also say that this setup worked perfectly for six years until March/April of this year. I don’t know exactly when Plex stopped adding metadata but it was in that timeframe. I started having to manually add episode names, descriptions, posters/backgrounds, etc. Didn’t have time to troubleshoot until now due to work travel.
Problem solved itself. I changed TV Shows > Manage Library > Edit > Advanced > Agent to The TVDB, saved changes, then immediately edited back to Plex Series and Updated the library. It is now back to properly naming series and shows.
