I’m trying to match some TV shows (usually one-offs and specials) but they don’t get a match. I notice that the only agent available is “Plex TV Series”, other agents like TVDB don’t show up even though they are selected in the settings under agents. How can I get other options to show up?
I don’t think you can
If you use Plex TV series agent and scanner it pulls from a variety of sources including the TVDB and TMDB.
Have you verified through those sources what you’re looking for is actually listed?
If it’s on TVDB you should be getting a match unless there’s something wrong with your naming

One example would be the TV Special “All Madden”. It’s listed in the TVDB, it’s named “All Madden (2021) - 2021-12-25 13 00 00 - All Madden.ts”, which is what it was named automatically when recorded from the live broadcast.
This particular example is classified as a movie on both TVDB and The Movie Database:

You may be able to wedge it into a TV Show-type library, but it’s not going to pull metadata automatically.
If this was recorded by the Plex DVR and it allowed you to record to a TV Show library, that’s a problem in and of itself. That means that whatever EPG data you’re using had it classified incorrectly.
Also, I know you said this was just one example. So it may be that you’re experiencing multiple issues. Other examples may help in determining what those issues might be.
