Hey there,
I am reaching out here since I ran into some issues with the live TV / DVR option in Plex.
My ISP provides DVB-C that can be used to stream TV through the router (FritzBox 6660). From there I can stream up to 4 streams at the same time with either their App, VLC, Plex and many more options.
To now take advantage of this feature I installed a Plex media server (docker) within my Unraid server. When the server is directly connected to the router mentioned above, everything works just fine in Plex, adding the Tuner and watching TV no problem.
But:
Since I am sharing my internet connection, I segmented the network as follows:
Internet ↔ FritzBox (ISP router with the tuner) ↔ UDM Pro (my network) ↔ Unraid Server with Plex. Strangely all my devices can not only access the FritzBox, but also stream TV without issues (VLC and FritzApp TV were tested), just Plex refuses to connect.
I checked everything possible, but Plex is unable to connect from within my network (192.2168.4.X) to the FritzBox (192.168.178.1). It only works when the server is directly connected to the router.
At first I thought it was a server issue (see my post on the Unraid forums here), but after verifying with yet another network and second server, Plex doesn’t connect there either, which leads be to believe that it must be a Plex issue. Furthermore I found this post in a german Synology forum, describing exactly the same issue I have, but with Plex running on a Synology NAS.
WireShark proved, that the tcp connection / handshake is make, but the udp stream for the TV is not showing up:

Long story short; I believe that Plex must have connection issues / blockaded, for what ever reason. Question now is, how can this be resolved?
Please let me know if I can provide any additional info.
Thank you for reading, I hope someone knows a solution ![]()
