Help Amazon firestick downloaded the new plex uno and now when I try to play a movie the movie will not play and it goes back to the amazon start screen.
I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it to no avail
Can someone give me some insight as to what to do
I have tried to go back to an eariler plex version but cant
I do not like this uno it is JUNK NOTHING WORKS
I have 3 fire sticks and 1 fire tv and I can not even get any of them to load Plex correctly. Also keeps crashing and goes back to the amazon start screen. Just started to happen tonight. I may have to break out my old chrome cast or start watching live TV again if this doesn’t get fixed.
I have a FireStick 4K and am watching Plex on it right now… It was a pain getting the Uno screen setup, but now that it’s setup, it’s working just as it was before the update.
It dosen’t work it will never work in its present form POS
can some show me or tell me how to restore to a working version I too have 3 firesticks that it dosen’t work on!
It works just fine.
It dosent work
3 firestisks dosent work
Of cause it works, set it up correct and it will be good. Pin Libraries and set your Libraries to open not in recommended
Im sorry tried that it dosent work
Ok, there’s a difference between “It doesn’t work” and “It’s not working for me” It works, it’s not a piece of ■■■■, I have it working just fine on my firestick, and so do numerous other people.
If you need help, you need to provide the Server Version you’re using, the Client Version you’re using, and log files from both the server and client. And then people can look through and help you out.
But I promise you, it’s not broken, it might be for a limited number of people, but it’s not broken for everyone, as I and others definitely have it working here…
So tell me how to go back to a good working version then
There is no need to go back, and on a firestick, I don’t think it’s possible…
Provide the logs from both server and client, and the server and client version, and let the community help you get it working
And that’s more likely to happen without all the melodramatics.
Im sorry as nice as I can be It dosent work
We understand you’re not able to get it to work… But if you want it to work, you need to ask for help, and the community can only help you if you provide us with the proper information.
So, we need the server version number, the client version number, and the logs from both the server and the client…
Without this, we cannot help you get it working, and you will be stuck being angry, rather than happy and watching movies/shows from plex…
I see your have a pass account.
Go To: https://forums.plex.tv/c/general/announcements
Make sure you have the latest Version Fire Stick and Plex Server. If it does not work then after what we have all mentioned. Send your Logs…
Lets all take a deep breath and sigh with relief, this will work as there is Consensus from Forum members. If we did not have that this thread would be totally flooded with complaints.
Then count your blessings Jason. It may be working for you, but for me it is a disaster. PLEX stops on my android phone so much so, that I cannot use it.
On Amazon FireTV it says I don’t have enough bandwidth to stream from my QNAP NAS server (this never happened before, and I’ve had a PLEX PASS since 2016!) Sometimes I can get it to stream from my NAS the 25 miles to my vacation home using a VPN, but not always. And in the last two days, it does not always record the station I had it set to record; it records another station.
I have never asked for help from customer support, if there is any.
Server and Client are up to date and I have sent my log files several times.
Maybe it will magically work right again as it has in the past, but it sure would be nice to chat directly with someone in customer support about this.
Wow I thought this worked for everybody!!!
@warnerjr1945 and @hktire the direct support you get for Plex is the forums. The support community here works, and is doing a good job. Often times, when an issue goes unresolved, a moderator will hop in, and gather the necessary information and forward it along to the Plex Engineers, who will either give more steps, or will start working on the issue. It works, I’ve seen it happen more often than not.
The key point here though, is that in order to help, we (the support community in the forums) need the logs, to be able to discern the problem.
Directly to hktire: No one said it worked for everybody, in fact, I said that it likely doesn’t work for a small group of people, but works for the majority. I am able to say this, because there’s not a rampant flood of “FireStick not working after update” posts on the forums. It’s only a few isolated incidents. Suck it up, do what you gotta do, and help us help you… It’s that simple…
Directly to Warnerjr1945: There could be a multitude of problems going on here… Remote access depends on the quality of the peering networks between the two points. It’s also upload speed issues (especially when talking about a QNAP NAS server). The reason I say especially when talking aout a NAS is because those pre-built NAS, do not have the ability to transcode very well, so if the bandwidth drops, and the server needs to transcode, this type of problem starts to occur. This is why I don’t recommend anyone run a server directly off of a NAS solution, unless it’s a Fully built PC with PC Parts running FreeNAS or the like. The ready made NAS just usually don’t have the hardware support to support transcoding of 1080p files in any meaningful manner.
I am not saying that that’s your problem, but just based on what little you’ve given me, that’s where I would look first. But, if you can, re-create the issue, and send the log files here, and we will be more than happy to help you out. That’s what we’re all here for…
