Plex unreachable outside local network

I can not reach Plex as of two days ago. Plex uses the a fix IP and port 32400, which is forwarded on my router. The setting ‘Remote Access’ displayes ‘Fully accessible outside your network’. The port appears to be open according to canyouseeme.org. I already tried:

  • Restart router and Plex as well as the machine it is running on
  • Deactivate router firewall
  • Deactivate the firewall of the machine on which Plex is running
  • Try to connect directly via :32400/web/index.html, but all I get is Plex logo with dark background

I am out of ideas. Does somebody have an idea where the problem could be?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Same issue here :frowning: there seems to be a number of threads for this issue…

Maybe somewhat related. I’m trying to develop a VPN bypass solution for routers using dnsmasq/ipset.
Currently I’m routing traffic to the following domains around the VPN…

plex.tv
plexapp.com
myplex.tv

Those domains apparently aren’t the complete set, as I need to also add a rule that port 32400 requests must also be explicity routed around the VPN.

Can a plex developer/ninja confirm the domains that must be accessible for external access to work?

It seems my router is causing the problem. Other users complain about broken port forwarding under a specific firmware. Since other services stoped working as well after I created this thread, I think that Plex is not the cause of the issue.
