Plex Updater: Updated App Showing "Contents" Folder

The last time my Plex Mac app auto-updated, I had noticed that the app was revealing its internal folders that you would typically find in “Show Package Contents” via folders in the Dock. I have my Application folder setup in my dock with “List” view (to show all my apps in a list).

I replaced that version last week with the .DMG from the web and all was perfect again. Today, the auto-updater fired off again to download yesterday’s release and the same thing happened. I’m noticing this on my laptop, but I didn’t catch this issue on my desktop.

Is there something funny going on with the permissions set when the auto-updater app does its thing?

Just updated on my desktop to double check and running into the same issue. Doubling down on the auto-updater having an odd permissions issue.

Dropping in the newest version from the DMG and all appears correctly again. This will most likely continue to happen every version until fixed.
