While on Picture in Picture mode playing Plex video on demand, Plex app crashed when I try to browse other movies and tried to play it.
Since then the new video player engine will not respect my choice of showing the video as letterbox, zoom, or stretched.
And since then the available setting items changed, I don’t see anymore choice for changing resolution, what that was about.
I tested this in LATEST Android TV app for Nvidia shield 2015.
Plex app also crashed or stuck many times trying to play Plex video on demand with the screen showing “Ads 1 of -1”. I’m guessing a problem in Plex ad server. I don’t use adblock on shield and home Network.
And in this latest app, I get random error about connection problem such as :
Something about please confirm that the hardisk is attached while trying to play Plex VOD.
Or the many times Plex Tidal, podcast, my friend’s servers and my local owned servers shows unavailable, or shows connection issue yellow icons, or getting warning for using Plex Relay for my friend’s servers.
So I many times can’t browse my friend’s servers content amid problem above, but I can play their content just fine when I add them to a playlist.
Reverting Plex server and client to the oldest factory reset version fix this.
Tested on 2015 and 2017 SHIELD.
