I moved my Plex Server to a Nvidia Shield TV Pro recently. I haven’t used it much. But today my wife wanted to watch some shows.
It played a few shows, but now just about everything hangs loading at 33%.
I’ve tried this: Reddit - Dive into anything I cleared the codecs folder on my Shield Pro, but it hasn’t solved the problem.
I’m not sure what could be causing the issue. Any ideas?
Not sure if I’m in the same situation as you but sure sounds similar.
I have something like this now as well. Plex was working fine for quite some time but now all my MKV files never start playback and all spin up to 33% buffering but never get past that. Odd thing is that the same files playback fine for the most part on my iOS phone Plex app.
My Setup (all up to date versions AFAIK as of 6/18/23):

Error (?) excerpts I’m digging out of my plex logs (on NVidia Shield). No idea if related/helpful but including here for reference/in case:
“MDE: [MovieName] no remuxable profile found, so video stream will be transcoded”
“MDE: Cannot direct stream audio stream due to codec opus when profile only allows aac”
“MDE: Cannot direct stream video stream due to profile or setting limitations”
“MDE: [MovieName] selected audio stream is not the first audio stream and direct play stream selection is not enabled”
“…no remuxable profile found, so video stream will be transcoded”
I haven’t fixed it. The fix is to dump anything I want to watchin Handbrake and encode it as an MP4. All my media works that way.
But my AVIs and MKVs all came from different sources . What art the chances that none of them were encoded correctly? It has to be a setting or it has to be the shield. I haven’t fixed it yet.
