Plex visible in local network but not remotely

First time posting here, so apologies if I’ve not followed the right convention (as it differs from forum to forum).

I have had the Amazon Fire TV (2nd generation) for a few months now and it constantly has playback problems (the server is remote and is managed by a third party). Most of the time, it breaks up playback saying the connection is not fast enough. Yet, the server has gigabit uploads and I have more than 50mbps download speeds (connected to wired network). I have no issues streaming on other services such as Netflix. I have also downloaded the Plex pass version beta (7.6.1.7956) but that has the same issues.

Conversely, playback via iOS devices works seamlessly.

I have been reading online that the developers have messed the app up with unstable releases.

Can anyone please help me get to the bottom of this? Can I see any logs on the client which could help me determine where the problems lie?

I am happy to downgrade to an older version if it means I can play without any frustration.

Not sure why this has been moved to computers/web when this is an Amazon fire TV problem?
