Plex Web and Plex Desktop app on Mac won't connect locally only remotely

Server Version#: 1.30.0.6486
Mac mini 2018
Player Version#: 1.60.1.3413-533a7645
MacBook Pro Mac 2021

I am using a Mac mini as my Plex server with 58TB of NAS storage for all my content. I noticed a few months ago that my various Mac computers were having issues connecting to my Plex server. I only have this issue on Macs, I don’t see it with my several Shield TV’s nor my Apple TV’s. It occurs on my Macs while using the web app or the Mac desktop app. All of this happens on my local network, if I am using my Mac remotely everything works fine and streams correctly. After reading lots and lots of articles I am sure my network is not an issue it has to be something to do with how Macs connect securely especially on local networks.

If I connect to the web app on my Mac mini machine (the one that hosts my Plex server) using 127.0.0.1:32400 everything works fine, but if I use Plex.tv all my libraries are greyed out with with a connection issue triangle next to them.

I also experience connection issues on all my other Macs both with the Plex desktop app and the web app at Plex.tv. I am able to connect if I use my local Plex server IP address e.g. 192.168.xxx.xxx:32400, but I do have to bypass the bad certificate warning that I see when first connecting.

Please help, this is so frustrating.

Can you post your server logs ? the server should be pulling its own certificate automatically

@ChuckPa Hi, do you have any ideas of what I can try to fix this?
