Server Version#: SHIELD Android TV media server v1.18.3…2129
Player Version#: Shield Android TV 7.25.3.14365
Plex Media Server is running on Shield Android TV.
I have paid up plex pass account.
When I try to use web app settings, I do not see my server.
My Shield Android TV Plex app is linked to same plex pass account.
The server app is running on the Shield according to settings.
I am trying to set up live TV, which I have had working over a year ago using beta.
I have SiliconDust tuner on network that is working, but if I can’t see the server, I can’t even get to the point of setting up the tuner.
From reading other problems on the forum, it could be that the hosted plex app can’t see my server through my firewall. The hosted app does not show the Shield Plex app as a “server”, which is what makes me think that.
Any help would be appreciated. It is very frustrating to have paid for about 4 years for the premium account and not even be able to call even a first-line support person on the phone. I thought Plex had raised venture money and was trying to become a serious consumer-facing business???

I don’t know what the “unable to open named mutex …” means. It appears to fail trying to start up the web server on my HDHomeRun network tuner. I went out to the tuner on my LAN and updated its firmware, in case that might be the problem. Below is the latest log file, which shows the same failure, but then goes on.

No, I am not using a cellular hotspot. My WAN is fiber 1G and my home LAN is one segment of 1G Ethernet. All devices (SiliconDust networked Tuner, Nvidia Shield Plex Server, and Mac OS X accessing Plex.tv and Nvidia Networked storage) are on the same LAN segment on Ethernet wired connections — no WiFi.
Ok. Well something odd is going on. PMS is not able to detect your LAN connection on the Shield as being local so it has no local IP address to bind itself to, hence you cannot access it from Plex Web using it’s IP address. If you have a web browser installed on your Shield, you could possibly access it using localhost or 127.0.0.1.
I’ll need to discuss with the devs to see why PMS might not be detecting your LAN connection.
I checked your account and it does not show the Shield associated with your account so it doesn’t look like you ever claimed it or you claimed it under another account, which I can’t tell from your logs.
Have you tried accessing the local web host on your Shield.
I accessed the Shield web host and it immediately took me into PMS setup, which I did. After that, when I went into my account on plex.tv, it saw the PMS??? Now it is allowing me to set up the SiliconDust tuner. Thanks a bunch. Never would have figured this out myself.
