Plex web casting to audio only device results in blank screen

I have a JBL Music Link speaker with Chromecast and Airplay built in. Previously, if I started a video on plex-web I could go to the cast tab and cast to my JBL speaker and the audio only would be sent and video would stay in the browser.

But I tried it today, and the audio came out the speaker, but I was given a pop up in plex to say do I want to continue playback on the JBL. Agreeing I get the audio on the JBL but a blank screen in the browser. I’m not sure where the change as occured. When I look at the cast button, it has a little icon for a speaker so it knows it’s an audio only device.

Incidentally, I just went to youtube, started a video and hit the cast button to send the audio to the JBL and it was able to correctly separate the audio to the JBL and leave video on the browser. That makes me suspect it’s a plex web issue not browser or chromecast.

Looks like it’s magically fixed itself with a server update…no mention of it in release notes. Unsure if it was a plex issue, edge issue, chrome issue or google cast issue.
