Plex Web stopping to transcode when pausing video for longer

Plex web: 4.62.1, but started at least 3 versions earlier
PMS beta: 1.23.6.4881, same applies, started at least 5 versions earlier

Hey there guys,

I recently noticed some weird behavior and I’m not sure if it has to do with my setup or with the web app itself. It started some versions back.

When I pause any video for longer than 3-4 minutes in my Plex web app (In the same network as the PMS) the transcoding would finally stop for that video and no transcoding would happen anymore.

As en example: I watch Video XY and pause it at 2:34 (Timestamp doesn’t matter, just an example) and I do other stuff for 15 minutes then. When I resume the video, the video would play only for as long as the transcoder pre-transcoded the video when I left the stream.
As soon as it reaches the pre-transcoded maximum value, the video would stop and no further transcoding would happen.

It seems like it just doesn’t know or cannot re-utilize the transcoder.

This does not happen on other devices (Or I didn’t notice yet) and does not happen under a specific amount (If I pause the video for only 30 seconds there’s no issue with resuming).

Hope this was well explained and hoping for any pointers

Cheers boys!

EDIT: [Solved!] Turns out that my GPU overclocking settings were the culprit. Mystery solved

Not solved! The issue persists with standard GPU settings

Anybody?

Sue me for the ping, but maybe you don’t mind me pinging and you have an idea @sa2000? I know you helped me a lot with the TCP port exhaustion issue :see_no_evil:
