I have downgraded to PlexMediaServer-1.24.5.5173-8dcc73a59-x86_64.qpkg and exactly like all other users reported, the problem is fixed. I was lucky to find the file in my downloads folder as qnap or plex dont hold the old version anywhere…
so far this is the only way i was able to fix this buffering problem…
This started happening to me quite some time ago, but I typically use a Roku app and didn’t really narrow it down until recently. But I can confirm this is has been a pain point for several months, and I would really like to see a fix. This is certainly much higher priority for me than any new features, I have multiple times downloaded files to watch locally now rather than dealing with the regular streaming hangups.
I’m having this issue but it only happens towards the end of the movie. It plays just fine the whole movie and then towards the end (guessing less than 5%) it just stops buffering and I can only watch 1 minute at a time. If I watch on samsung app or iOs app it works fine. it’s only in web.
DirectPlay = Plex/web can accept the file as-is (file extension/layout as-is).
DirectStream = The Audio is converted -OR- The container (Extension/layout) is changed to be compatible.
