Plex Web Unavailable for my Server. Works For Others

An interesting thing started happening today…

When I sat down in front of my desktop, Plex Web was sitting there, as it always is in an open browser tab. I installed a new antenna yesterday, so I decided to scan for new channels to see if anything new would populate today. Shortly after I initiated that scan, my server became unavailable to me in Plex Web. No big deal… I restarted the server and reset the tab. The server showed for about 5 seconds and then went dark.

It still functions perfectly from client devices. She’s serving up files as expected. The PC (not the PMS PC) I normally use at home runs on a VPN, so I didn’t think much of it. I thought I’d check again when I got to work. When I got here, it was the same story… 5 seconds of view, then fade to black. I checked from my phone… again, 5 seconds of access, with the ability to move around, then it goes unavailable. Attempted an insecure connection… no go.

Oddly enough, I can still get to a friend’s server on all of these PCs… likely running a slightly older version of PMS, since he’s not too quick to update, and he doesn’t run beta updates.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. I have not yet tried accessing directly from the PC hosting PMS. If I lose it there… I’m not sure how to diagnose it or get logs.

EDIT: Probably important to add, that it continues to show up in the server list. It appears as Unavailable.

Remoted into the PMS PC from my phone. Confirmed that PMS is running, and Plex Web is accessible. Not available outside for some odd reason.

This post may be a boon. I manually re-enabled remote access and everything appears to be working. Odd that it would turn itself off…

EDIT: Double checking Remote Access solved all of my issues, which makes sense since the PC I normally use is considered an outside PC due to the VPN. Also makes sense that everything in the house worked fine.
