I am having an issue where trying to access my Plex server via https://app.plex.tv/desktop/ is simply not working, for no apparent reason. It simply says “Content not available” and all my libraries are inaccessible. This is even on the same local network as my server. It hasn’t been working for several days now.
However:
All of my apps on the local network (iOS, iPad, Apple TV) can access and play content absolutely fine.
My phone can also play content fine over 4G.
My Plex server is run on a Mac Mini. My server at http://127.0.0.1:32400 says remote access is enabled fine.
I’m baffled - I don’t know why web browser access has suddenly stopped working, and I don’t know how to fix it. I haven’t changed anything. Any ideas? Thanks!
Server Version#: 1.32.5.7349
Player Version# (Local Mac Mini): 4.108.0
Player Version# (Online): 4.114.2
I am still having this issue a few months on, with no luck fixing it.
I seem to not be the only one, I think this post describes the same issue. Unfortunately the provided solution has not worked for me:
I am also wondering if these posts are regarding the same issue:
In short, looking through the forums it seems like lots of people are having the same issue, and I am surprised this hasn’t been resolved by Plex yet. They obviously made a change that has broken something for some people.
Actually MY problem went away after I updated the Plex server (which I had to do via the Plex app on my iPad - I couldn’t do it via any PC (because of the issue connecting with the browser - note: I did NOT try to put the Plex app on any Windows machine and perhaps that might have worked). I could connect via Roku or Shield but the lack of keyboards on them make doing anything pretty awful.
Anyway, if folks have this issue I’d highly recommend checking for Server updates and doing them if they are available. After I updated all started working again just fine.
