I have a file, The Quiet Man.mp4, which Plex will not add to the library not matter how many times I scan the library. Usually changing the file name will solve the problem but not in this case. Help! Please note that I am very very new to Plex so I need the answer for dummies. Thanks.

Some mp4 videos have embedded metadata… under certain circumstances this can be prioritized over the file name when it comes to matching the file – hence it could happen the file is actually added to your library but showing as a different movie. Does the file show up when you display your content…

Thanks for the replies. I just read about The Plex Dance, tried it, and the movie is now in the library. Lots to learn.
