Plex will not connect to synology DS418

Server Version#:
Player Version#:

Plex says that the nas is unavailable and the only “solution” I get is to make sure that the unit is on and connected to the network. Well the unit IS on and connected. I can map the drives and see ALL my folders and files. If it was not on and connected I would not be able to do any of that. I am not sure what version I have as to get here I cannot go back without losing this page. Suffice it to say I downloaded the latest version that is NOT a beta.

There is no plex>settings>server. Under settings is : general, remote access, agents, library, plugins, network, transcoder, languages, DLNA, scheduled tasks, extras. No server anywhere.

If this isn’t it then I don’t know what else to do. I found it under troubleshooting.Plex Media Server Logs_2020-10-06_16-04-37.zip (5.7 MB)

Thanks. For the tip. I moved everything OUT of folders I had created as Synology said that I needed to to have them index and recognize. I have nothing in the plex folder that I have saved myself. So I will recreate my video1, Music1 and photo1 folders and move items there and then delete the others.

I did as requested and now it’s worse. Nothing works! Not one of my devices either in the local network or internet now can play anything through Plex. While I can see everything via mapped drives and even play some items through my xbox basic media player. Plex sees that the NAS is there and that’s all. All my items are in new folders. The old synology folders have been removed. All items were moved to the new folders. 2 days of no access at all now. The only thing plex is now good for is its own streaming, not any NAS support. No video, music or photos.

This has gotten a LOT worse. I cannot even post a new question anymore and had to delete an account and then it seemed to put my other email as the old account and won’t even see my drives. If I delete this email then I’ll have to wait a whole month to start all over again. Also when I tried to start fro scratch, the page directed me to install plex server. So I uninstalled plex server to reinstall it again. only to be redirected back to the install plex server page AGAIN when I tried to find my storage drives. ALL the “advice” I have gotten on this “support” page has only continued to make things worse after following said “advice”. I have spent DAYS moving items around, creating new folders and sorting them out as instructed, only to have NONE of them recognized. When before I could at least SEE them, even though I couldn’t DO anything with them.
