Plex Windows client not updating?

So, when I start the windows client, it brings up the thing to run the update for 1.95.175, which is the latest version, and it will open up the updater thing, run a bit, but then open up the client window, and when I look, it’s still 195.2.166 version. And it’ll try again when I close and restart the client.

Will installing over from a freshly downloaded-from-the-website version cause me to lose any of my client settings?

No; your settings will be preserved.

Thank you, and doing so helped me figure out what was wrong. it turned out that there was a file that was stuck open and I didn’t know it shouldn’t be running. Once I ended the task that was running, it updated perfectly!
